CVS brings its private label to automated retail

The partnership put pharmacy staples in airport concourses and on university campuses — and, by the company’s own account, cut the cost of the product by 30%.
Pharmabox machines carry CVS private-label products in places a pharmacy does not reach: terminals, campuses, and venues that close before the need does.
In a June 2025 interview, Eduardo De Azevedo — CFO and co-founder of both Pharmabox and AmeriKiosks — described the agreement as the moment the model was validated nationally, and put the reduction in product cost at 30%.
Whatever the exact figure, the mechanism is not in dispute: an unattended point of sale competes with a store that has staff, hours and a back room, and cost per unit is the only place it can win.
